Christingle Service 2015

June 3, 2016 by Admin Linda

On Friday 27th November, the whole school went to St Phillip and St James Church for our Christingle service. The children said their words in the service very clearly and everyone sang beautifully. The highlight of the service was the lighting of the christingles and the children holding them while singing ‘Hope of Heaven’. Thank you to the adults who volunteered to make the christingles before the service and also to the parents who attended the service.

June 3, 2016 by Admin Linda

On Friday 18th September, Clair from Tesco (Genesis Walk, Consett) came into school to paint some poppies with the children from Class 4. This was part of Tesco’s community work and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. Our poppies, along with other schools, will be made into a piece of artwork. This will be installed outside Tesco at Consett and some children from our school will be going to view them.

June 3, 2016 by Admin Linda

The children had a visit from Scoop the dog to tell them all about Durham County Council’s friendly campaign to tackle dog fouling issues in our local community. Scoop, and his handler Chris, explained about the problems fouling can cause. The children also learned about the benefits of micro chipping pets and were keen to spread the word about the free micro chipping being offered by the Council. For more details visit www.durham.gov.uk/civicpride or call into Tow Law Community Centre on Tuesday 22nd September 2015 11am until 3pm.
