We are committed to meeting the needs of all children including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. We would ask parents to discuss the identified needs with the school prior to starting so that appropriate intervention and support can be planned and implemented. Advice from the LA or other agencies may be requested to ensure the school can meet any needs appropriately.

Nursery Admissions
At Tow Law Millennium Primary, we have a Governor led Nursery offering 16 places, plus 30 hours provision for those who are entitled. We offer a flexible approach to nursery (depending upon capacity). Our hours are 8.45am- 11.45am for morning sessions and 11.45am- 2.45pm for afternoon sessions. All day sessions run from 8.45am- 2.45pm and we provide a free school lunch for all children who are here for a full day. Children are welcomed into our nursery after their third birthday.

Mid-Year Admissions
Please see the details below if your child joins our school in the middle of an academic year.
If you are new to our school or join mid-way through a year we will do our best to help you settle in as quickly as possible.
- First Mrs Jackson will have a meeting with your parent/carer to discuss how we can best support transition. This may depend on your age or individual needs.
- Next Mrs Jackson will arrange for you to come in for a half day visit to meet your potential class teacher and the children. This is usually a morning visit where you will be brought by your parent/carer at 8.45am and collected at 12 noon.
- Next comes the important part. If you and your parent/carer are happy that our school is right for you they need to contact admissions at County Hall and when a place is allocated we will arrange a start date and if appropriate a phased induction.
- Once in school a Buddy or member of the school council will be asked to support you in school and help you with rules and routines until you settle in.
Applying for a school place if your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan or a Statement of SEN
Children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (or Statement of Special Education Needs) follow a different admission and transfer process for a new school. Please continue to complete Durham County Council’s parental preference form, as part of the admission process to a new school. You continue to have a right to request a particular school and this will be considered alongside the information that we have about your child’s special educational needs. The information would have been provided as part of the Education, Health and Care assessment or following the review meeting.
