Robinwood Residential Trip Years 5 and 6

January 15, 2017 by helendobson

A Robinwood Report – From the eyes of a child.

Robinwood is a place full of fun activities such as: The Giant Swing, the Piranha Pool and many, many more! I will share some of the activities and talk about what happens.

When we arrived there we were introduced to our team leaders and split into two groups. My team was River Team and our leader was Tom, he was a funny guy, good at joking! The other team were called Valley Team, and their team leader was Matt, he was funny and kind too! Then we went on a long walk ( about 40 minutes) and everybody’s legs were tired, but once we got there, we were fine!

The Dormitories

The dormitories were places where the groups would sleep overnight, we also put our luggage there. My dormitory was called Stoats and there was, me, Bailey, Kieran and Ethan in our room. Also, you got hot chocolate and a biscuit before bed too, YUM!

The Giant Swing

The Giant Swing was out first activity, it was amazing! I have a fear of heights but I went over half-way. When you reached the height you wanted the other children ( and adults ) would shout, “ 1,2, pull on Poo!” Poo is a teddy which you pull on and the swing goes flying into the air and you swing very high.

The Dungeon of Doom

The Dungeon of Doom is a group activity where only one group comes out, it’s a place full of riddles and puzzles and you had to work in a group to solve them! As you progressed, the challenges would get harder and have more puzzles, so you really have to pay attention! There’s a finale where the groups have to join a race to see which team’s best at solving puzzles.

The Piranha Pool

The Piranha Pool is also a place full of puzzles but this time, you had to go back and forth through the pool and work together to solve the code and get out of the room where the greedy piranhas were waiting for their snack. But you couldn’t step in the corners of the pool or you would release the hungry little beasts! You also have a time limit before they get released, be quick!

The Crate Challenge

The Crate Challenge is epic, you and your three team members have to work together to get to the highest point possible! My highest point was 9 crates, if you fall you just dangle and you could swim in mid-air and everything! It was so cool and was one of my favourites.

The Trapeze

This was an absolutely amazing challenge! You worked with your team who held ropes to support you on a climbing wall, this in turn led to a platform where you could either slide off the edge or bend your knees and catch the trapeze. It was my favourite task of them all, it was EPIC!

I have given you a flavour of Robinwood, I JUST HOPE YOU GET TO GO AND EXPERIENCE IT YOURSELF. I JUST WISH I COULD RETURN.
