Sports’ Leaders

In September 2018, we created a ‘Sports’ Leaders’ group.

In 2023 – 2024, this group is made up of Class 1 pupils. They will be responsible for maintaining our PE and playtime equipment, as well as communicating games and activities which are working well. They will also aim to deliver one new game a week to their peers across the school; as well as thinking of new games and ideas termly. They will also be supported by school council members who will be putting forward activity requests from the rest of the school. Together, they aim to build teamwork, communication, language and listening skills as well as the physical skills involved in participating in the different activities.

In the previous academic year (2022 – 2023), the Sports’ Leaders enjoyed working on different projects and delivered games at break and lunch times. We watched their skills and confidence flourish.

Our Sports’ Leaders would like to say:

“We have loved being sports’ leaders so far this year! It has helped us to improve our confidence and leadership skills as well as our knowledge on a variety of sports and games. We have been able to complete projects; so far we have completed the “Aldis kit for schools” project and we are looking forward to the winners being announced. Fingers crossed we win as we would love to provide the health legacy our school deserves! We have also started the change for life project, we hope this helps us to become more healthy and active as a school. We are so excited to hear what project is in store for us in the summer term.”
