Amanda Shaw
Tow Law Millennium Primary school is a brilliant School with a Good Ofsted rating and I would like to help and support the school to continue to improve & develop. My Name is Amanda Shaw, all of my children have attended this school with my youngest daughter currently in year 2. Myself and my Husband own two successful companies and I believe my finance & budgeting skills will transfer well to the work of school governance helping the school to analyse any gaps. I am particularly keen to ensure all children are safeguarded well and can fulfil their full potential whatever their background, Special educational needs or disabilities. Although I have no experience of school governance specifically, I have as a volunteer helped successfully run a youth club in the past for over two years. I am not afraid to ask difficult questions & willing to learn new things. I am lucky enough to have the time to commit to this role meaning I can attend meetings, governor training and visit the school during the day. I am also keen to support the school and all of its dedicated staff who work very hard to keep it running smoothly.
Stacey Birch
Im stacey birch we moved to tow law in 2015 when my son started reception at TLMPS. He has now left but i still have a daughter who is now in year 4 and i am keen to join the parent governors and have an active role. TLMPS is a terrific school and i would love to help with the children’s learning and influence the direction that the school takes. I feel that my passion for making difference to the lives of children is very close to my heart and i would like the parents to know that i will be fully committed to communicate concerns or feelings expressed by them to other member of the board and the school any time they need. I am not afraid to ask difficult questions if necessary on behalf of all the children this school serve. I am also keen to support all of the schools dedicated staff who work hard to keep this place running smoothly. I hope you will consider voting for me and thank you for taking the time to read my statement.

Michelle Fernandez

My name is Michelle Fernandez, I have lived in Tow law for 12 years. I have two children within Tow Law Millennium one in year 4 and one in reception. I am well known across the school with pupils, teachers and parents. I would now like to become a governor to help steer the school in the right direction and retain its good reputation for academic success and happy, friendly children.

My current day job is Payments and Expenditure Officer working for Durham County Council, I work Part time and I have flexible working so this gives me the flexibility to also become a school governor. I also used to be a school secretary, so I have handled budgets, performance statistics, Management Information and Finances throughout my career. I believe all of my skills I have from working for local government for 15 years will transfer well to the work of school governance.

I am particularly keen to ensure that all children are safeguarded well and focus on the wellbeing especially with the impact of covid. Making sure children can fulfil their full potential whatever their background, special educational needs or disabilities. Making sure that inclusion is top priority having a disabled child has shown me how it effects children and what you can do to make sure they are always included and don’t feel excluded.

I have also completed safeguarding training in the past as well as having a Level 2 Child Care qualification.

I hope that you will consider voting for me and thank you for reading.
