Foundation International School Award

November 21, 2016 by helendobson

At Tow Law Millennium Primary School we have received some very exciting news!

“We are delighted to inform you that Tow Law Millennium Primary School has successfully met the criteria for the Foundation level of the British Council International School Award. Congratulations!”

The British Council got in touch with us to say that we have been awarded the Foundation Level of the International School Award. They commented on our international work, saying that:

“This is a strong Foundation level application for the International School Award from Tow Law Millennium Primary School and one which shows a commitment to introducing internationalism into the curriculum as a matter of everything that you do.”

Our European Christmas Tree Decoration Project from December 2015 was the basis of the application and the British Council commented on it saying that:

“Your classroom based activity, the European Christmas Tree Decoration Project, was a great starting point for allowing children to make comparisons on culture and tradition and you have carefully considered the impact that this work has had on members of your school community. It is pleasing to see that this work involved the full age range of children in your school and that it covered a wide range of curriculum areas.”

We will now be developing an international link and working alongside that school on projects. Look out for more information about this!

Below are some photographs from our European Christmas Tree Decoration Exchange.
