Fundraising

Rainbow Trust 2024

Our School Council and Sports’ Leaders are currently organising a fundraising event to support the Rainbow Trust. Check back for more information soon!

Christmas Fayre 2023

We held our annual Christmas Fayre in early December 2023. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our school at this event. Also, thank you to our fundraising group for their organisation of this event. Some of our pupils performed Christmas songs during the event, they sounded brilliant!

Children in Need 2023

Children and staff across school dressed up and donated to Children in Need in November 2023. We raised a total of £110!

Children in Need 2021

Children across school enjoyed dressing up and eating a ‘Pudsey’ themed lunch to raise money for Children in Need.

CLIC Sargent

Our School Councillors organised a ‘Fun Run’ to raise funds for CLIC Sargent, a charity close to our hearts at Tow Law Millennium. Unfortunately due to enforced closure in March 2020, this was never able to happen. However, we hope to rearrange the fundraising at some point when it is safe to do so.

‘Wild Hair Day’

Our School Councillors organised a ‘Wild Hair Day’ to raise funds for St Teresa’s Hospice in Spring 2019. They enjoyed writing to the hospice and welcoming a member of their staff into assembly to receive the cheque. The School Councillors also decorated cakes and sold them during assembly on ‘Wild Hair Day’.

Chicken Coop

Our School Councillors did a ‘Name the Bear’ fundraising activity in summer 2nd half term 2018. They organised the competition and asked people to join in the activity during whole school events. They raised £24 and this will be put towards the cost of a larger chicken coop.

Trip Bus Funding

Class 4 decorated cakes with Mrs Chesters to sell to children throughout school. The money raised from this fundraising went towards funding buses for trips. The children really enjoyed decorating the cakes and then pretending to be a ‘shopkeeper’ and selling the cakes.

EYFS/KS1 and KS2 Playground Markings

Making A Difference Locally (MADL) is a charity launched by Nisa Retail limited to support local communities. Michael McCormick from Nisa, Tow Law, got in touch with school to tell us about the funding available through their charity. The School Councillors worked with Miss Dobson to complete the application bid and we were successful! Making a Difference Locally donated £1150 towards our playground markings which have now been completed on our KS2 and EYFS/KS1 yards.

Our School Councillors added to the total through their own fundraising in the final week of spring 1st half term. They came up with the idea to have a raffle during celebrations assembly, ‘guess how many sweets in the jar’ and ‘name the teddies’. They wrote a letter explaining to parents what they were planning to do and then two of our UKS2 School Councillors went round the classes each day with their fundraising ideas to collect money and take guesses of names and numbers of sweets.

Our School Councillors did a fantastic job and raised a massive amount of £176.20 to add towards our fundraising total for the playground markings.

Well done School Councillors for your hard work and thank you to Making a Difference Locally for your donation.

Guide Dog Puppy Sponsorship

During summer term 2016, the School Council worked alongside the Buddies to fundraise money through a sponsored walk. The focus of the walk was to allow the groups to sponsor a puppy guide dog. They raised the brilliant grand total of £353.07. Thank you to everyone who supported the children.

KS1 playground marking and KS2 trim trail extension

The school council focus for 2015 – 2016 was to fundraise to extend the trim trail on the Key Stage 2 field. They met the target amount needed in February and the trim trail was installed in April.

Following the success of the trim trail fundraising, a suggestion was given to the school councillors to add some playground markings to the Key Stage 1 playground. They helped to choose what would be best for the children and decided on a bike track with zebra crossings and parking bays. The children are working hard to fundraise. During summer term, they will be holding coffee afternoons, raffles in celebrations assemblies and hosting a stall at the Queen’s 90th birthday street party organised by the Friends of Tow Law.
